Elopement Inspiration in Magoebaskloof

Ah the beauty of a Spring elopement in the mountains of Magoebaskloof, one of South Africa’s best kept wedding venue secrets!

A little while ago, I sat and brainstormed a different idea with my friend Natalie Loots: An idea that celebrates the essence of marriage, elopements, nature, pure simplicity and happiness. Covid has stripped weddings down to their bare minimum, and whilst many couples are choosing to postpone their wedding dates, a select few have thrown caution to the wind and bravely forged ahead with free-spirited, unrestricted elopements.

Beautiful spring flowers of the Magoebaskloof mountains inspired us for this elopement photoshoot. From an altar under the falling cherry blossoms through to cake and champagne on the winding azalea-lined paths of Cheerio Gardens, we are celebrating the beauty of our country and the colour explosion of the South African Spring season.

This elopement was a marvel which took immense dedication. With 9 hours of driving, then us both setting up and photographing all the beauty in a single day… we honestly couldn’t be more proud and excited to share it with you! Thank you to everyone who was involved and helped us along the way! All credits  can be found at the end of the post, and we’d love for you to consider these incredible suppliers for your own weddings or events.

Enjoy all of the photos! We hope, with our whole hearts, that you are INSPIRED!

P.S. Brides in hats? The answer is a resounding YES!!!
