Every now and then a wedding comes along that is so gloriously different that it sweeps me completely off my feet. This inner city Johannesburg wedding was just that! From the minute you drive into Hallmark House Hotel, it is one visual gift after another. Plus, the penthouse suite is a photographer’s delight!

Tracy and Pete curated an incredible day for their guests that just kept giving and giving. From their rooftop ceremony and drinks, to the underground Marabi Jazz Club reception. Then, a late night secret speakeasy where no phones or photos are allowed? Such a cool way to end the day! It was one for the books, filled with sunlight, views, music, and MAGIC. If you are looking for a completely unique Johannesburg wedding venue then look no further!

A few words from Tracy and Pete:

We were looking for a Johannesburg wedding venue that was something totally different. We wanted something that was going to be an experience, and more than just a wedding. As huge fans of the JHB City skyline views, Hallmark House Hotel has incredible views from all angles. The live jazz band at Marabi was another unique drawcard, as is the fact that the venue could accommodate most of our guests on the wedding night. Even better is that the venue comes with an amazing event coordinator (Tanja) to help you along the way!

The most important things to us were that we were able to be relaxed and enjoy ourselves, to appreciate the day and the value of having all our loved ones around us.

It was also important for us that our guests really enjoyed themselves too! We loved that there were so many aspects of the day that were unique experiences, and that our friends and family were able to enjoy these as much as we did. We also loved how the day flowed through the various areas of the venue! Each has its own charm and elements of surprise. Seeing just how much fun our guests were having throughout the day was something that made it extra special!

It was really important to us to find our key vendors early on in the planning process. Our advice to other couples: It can be overwhelming to start planning, so get your ducks in a row about what is really important to you and what you would really need, and don’t stress about the small things. There’s so much pressure from social media for things to be “insta-worthy” and so many people giving you advice and information. Sometimes its better to block out as much of that as possible and just do what works for you – after all the day is about the two of you! Remember to take time out from it all and just enjoy the ride, it really does go by so quickly.
