Garden Route wedding venues are among my favorites in South Africa, and Kay & Monty Vineyards ranks high on that list. This beautiful wine farm set the stage for Jade and Greg’s wedding. It blended formal elegance with a music festival vibe! As a special touch, Jade was able to have her beloved horses nearby, just behind the ceremony site.
It’s always amazing to see the coordination team working closely with the couple to create a dream wedding. If you’re searching for a Garden Route wedding venue, I highly recommend Kay & Monty. The professionalism and stunning backdrop, so close to Plettenberg Bay, make it a standout. Their venue also caters to larger weddings, which is a great bonus!

Getting Wedding Ready in The Garden Route
While many of my clients choose holiday homes in Plett for wedding prep, there’s a 30-minute drive between The Crags and Plett. I love when couples select venues in and around The Crags for their prep. These locations offer a perfect blend of luxury and nature that mirrors the area’s beauty.
Greg stayed at Fairview House, while Jade and her bridal party stayed at Kay & Monty’s Manor House. Both locations are peaceful and picturesque—an absolute dream for photography! Kay & Monty Vineyards, located about 20km from Plettenberg Bay, borders Tsitsikamma’s forests. It’s ideal for couples who want an outdoor Garden Route wedding, or simply want to incorporate the breathtaking scenery.

An Outdoor Ceremony in The Garden Route

Jade and Greg’s ceremony took place by the Kay & Monty lake. The weather and light danced as they exchanged vows under the open sky. Thankfully, the clouds lifted by the time I finished their couple photos. We were blessed with stunning light and an incredible sunset!

A Unique Wedding Reception Idea
When it came to putting together their wedding reception, Jade and Greg threw the rule book out of the window. They decided to host a food and music festival with a few speeches sprinkled in between, and a massive surprise for their guests at the end!
Canapés were served with a live performance as guests wandered between food and drink stands. The bridesmaids and groomsmen dreamed up everything from oysters and sushi to a dedicated tequila stand and patisserie. Their reception menu was a sensory feast!
As the party kicked off, guests were treated to a live performance by Good Luck. It was absolutely unforgettable!
This really was an exceptional wedding in the heart of the Garden Route!
