Ally and Matthieu’s Webersburg Wine Estate Wedding in Cape Town

Webersburg Wine Estate weddings always hit the spot! Ally and Matthieu’s breathtaking wedding was everything they dreamed of and more, even though the weather gave us a bit of a runaround on the day. Thanks to expert coordination by Elizma from Infinite Concepts, the day unfolded seamlessly, and was filled with all the good things: vibrant colour, laughter and love! Capturing this unique Webersburg Wine Estate wedding was an absolute delight, and I can’t wait to share all its beauty. Let’s dive in!

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER:

Hi, I’m Niki M – a destination wedding photographer based in South Africa. My work is filled with emotion, unposed moments and true-to-life colour. Unique outdoor weddings and elopements are my jam. For that reason I usually find myself photographing weddings and elopements in the Drakensberg, the Midlands, the Garden Route and Cape Town. However, no wedding is too far and I travel absolutely anywhere!

Bridal Prep at Webersburg Wine Estate

Built in 1786, the manor house at Webersburg Wine Estate is a stunning Cape Dutch building that has retained all its old-world charm. With original yellowwood floors and antique furniture, it is SUCH a beautiful and homely building. It was the perfect space for Ally and her tribe to move freely, with no shortage of charming spaces!

Nestled in the heart of Stellenbosch’s winelands, this estate blends history, elegance, and breathtaking scenery – making it an idyllic setting for a dream wedding.

Groom’s Prep in the Jonkershuis Building

Another beautiful Cape Dutch building on the Webersburg Wine Estate houses a few luxury units, making it the perfect spot for Matthieu and his wedding party, including one awesome groomswoman (woohoo!). I absolutely love seeing couples embrace a more inclusive entourage, making space for all their closest friends. The Jonkershuis building offered the best of both worlds – everyone could float freely on the verandah outside the rooms but still had the privacy of their own unit.

Bad Weather Meets Brilliant Backups at Webersburg Wine Estate

Cape Town’s autumn weather is notoriously volatile, but Elizma and her team from Infinite Concepts had a backup plan for everything! Luckily, Webersburg Wine Estate offers plenty of versatile spaces, giving the setup crew endless options. When the rain threatened, the ceremony moved into the estate’s historic wine cellar—and it couldn’t have been more perfect!

With plenty of space for guests, the cellar created a beautiful, romantic space for the ceremony. Even the geese wanted in on the action at some point (not ideal as I am terrified of geese… it’s a long story involving a snappy farm goose and my 12 year old bum, but I digress hahaha). Thankfully, with the front doors open, natural light poured in while guests stayed sheltered from the rain

Woohoo! Outdoor Canapés at Webersburg Wine Estate

Never underestimate the power of the great outdoors and the sunshine breaking through the clouds. As the threat of the Cape Town rain faded, Ally and Matthieu’s guests enjoyed mingling with the couple on the beautiful lawns of Webersburg Wine Estate. The backdrop was truly stunning, featuring ancient oak trees, a peaceful dam, and majestic mountains… everything that the Cape Winelands are known (and cherished) for.

Gorgeous Light and Alllllll The Beauty

My goodness! We had the most incredible light for the bridal party and couple photos at Ally and Matthieu’s Cape Town wedding! I was in actual heavennnnnn as we explored Webersburg Wine Estate and took photos in such beautiful spots!

A Moment for The Colours

I can’t believe it has taken me this long either haha! Can we finally take a moment to appreciate Ally and Matthieu’s wedding colour palette? It was truly stunning! The striking contrast between navy blue and deep red as wedding colours was absolutely spectacular. Add a touch of gold, and it was perfection.

The berry-coloured floral arrangements, featuring orchids, dahlias, peonies, hydrangeas, tulips, and roses, were simply beautiful. Blue napkins and Delftware with hand-folded origami cranes added the perfect touch of deep blue.

Bouwer Flowers went above and beyond with this wedding set up at Webersburg Wine Estate!

And So It Begins, Indeed!
